How-To Guide

What You Will Need

Not much! To apply our heat transfers, you will need a heat press and a substrate (t-shirt).

Cricut EasyPress (and equivalent) and home irons will work, however they require inputs from the user (pressure from strength, placement, etc.), and for this reason we cannot guarantee the results. We always recommend using a professional quality heat transfer for consistent results.

We do not recommend using the Cricut autopress as it does not provide sufficient pressure.

What Materials Can I Apply Transfers To?

Our DTF transfers are extremely versatile! Say goodbye to the days of polyester-only sublimation and say hello to a world of options!
Our heat transfers can be applied to and colour material made of:

- Cotton

- Polyester

- Nylon

- Treated leather

- Wood surfaces (charcuterie anyone?)

- and more!

Materials and fabrics with large spacing in between fibres are not suitable for dtf transfers as there is not enough surface area to ensure proper adherence (ie. mesh, wide-knit wool, etc.).

Applying Transfers with a Heat Press

Set your heat press to 151 degrees Celsius or 305 degrees Fahrenheit. For 100% Polyester, we recommend using 290 degrees Fahrenheit (143 C). Set your pressure to HEAVY. It should require two hands to both open and close the press.

Place your transfer onto the garment, image side up and white side down.

Apply Heat press for 8-9 seconds for polyester garments or 10-12 seconds for cotton and release afterwards.

Use a confident, but gentle pulling motion to peel the transfer film away from the shirt. We use hybrid film, so you can peel when hot or cold!

Set your press to low pressure. Place the teflon or parchment paper sheet over the transfer, and press the image again for 3-5 seconds. For best results, we strongly recommend using a T-Seal sheet - please follow manufacturer instructions for use.

Enjoy your new shirt! It is best to leave the shirt a few minutes to settle before wearing or folding to avoid fold lines

Applying Transfers with a Cricut Easypress or Home Iron

Set the temperature to 320° F.

Check out our pinned reels on IG for a how-to video!

Place your transfer onto the garment, image side up and white side down. Cover the entire transfer area with either a Teflon sheet or parchment paper.

Using VERY HEAVY pressure, apply Easypress/iron to the entire design for 25-30 seconds. If your iron doesn't cover the entire area, repeat this process in sections over the entire transfer.

Use a confident, but gentle pulling motion to peel the transfer film away from the shirt. We use hybrid film, so you can peel when hot or cold!

Place parchment paper/ teflon sheet back over the transfer and gently iron over the entire transfer area for a few seconds.
